Oh how we all wait for that launcher to be completed... On topic. The idea of a "costume" or "suit" has a threefold purpose. One it, in most of our cases, offers some sort of physical protection. Two, it conceals our true identity, important in keeping eyes off our personal lives, and from pinpointing us in less than legal circumstances. Three, it makes our superhero alterego a sort of urban legend, or at best, an Icon, and makes it known to the criminals that we are not 'in the right place at the right time' but actively fighting crime in our communities. The suit is very effective in these ways On the topic of evil. If you do not believe that true evil does not exsist, you do not spend much time with the evening news. It's there. Batman didn't have powers either. (nor did any of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonpowered_superheroes On that note, I think GS and Stickman have this argument well in hand, so off I go.
